Pitch at Japan's Largest Open Innovation Hub in Aichi

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Takaya Taguchi, CEO of Helical Fusion, spoke at two collaborative events hosted as part of Aichi Prefecture’s deep tech initiative, Aichi Deeptech Launchpad, at STATION Ai in Nagoya, Japan.

During the Aichi Deeptech Launchpad × Nagoya University D-Center Joint Seminar, Taguchi joined a panel discussion with Mr. Maru from Leave a Nest and Mr. Tsukamoto from Illumi Medical. The panel explored the "Driving Innovation as Founders"theme and delved into how deep tech startups can solve critical challenges while building sustainable businesses.

Later that day, Taguchi took the stage at the Meet Up Chubu session, an open innovation event organized by the Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Chubu Economic Federation, and Aichi Prefecture. As a selected startup under the Aichi Deeptech Launchpad Acceleration Program, Taguchi pitched Helical Fusion’s vision to achieve the world’s first steady-state fusion reactor. The session featured six pioneering startups, showcasing groundbreaking ideas to tackle uncharted territories with advanced technologies.

Helical Fusion’s Helical Stellarator builds on over 70 years of expertise from world-class institutions, including the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) in Gifu, and its predecessors, such as the Nagoya University Plasma Research Center and Kyoto University Heliotron Research Center.

The company is working closely with leading manufacturers in the Tokai region, renowned for their craftsmanship, to develop a commercially viable, maintenance-ready steady-state fusion reactor.

Helical Fusion deeply values its ties to Aichi and the Tokai region, where innovation and tradition converge.

Together, we will continue to push boundaries and drive the future of energy.
