On February 6, 2025, Helical Fusion’s CEO, Takaya Taguchi, took the stage at TechGALA, a major technology event held at STATION Ai in Nagoya, which attracted over 5,000 attendees.
In the business contest AICHI NEXT UNICORN LEAGUE, Taguchi competed as a finalist.
While he did not secure the top prize, he seized the opportunity to share the impact of Helical Fusion’s ambitious challenge: leveraging Japan’s manufacturing excellence to build the world’s first steady-state fusion reactor and create a new industry.

Later that day, Taguchi participated in a panel discussion titled How Startup Technologies Are Shaping the Future of Manufacturing, alongside two Japanese deeptech startups.. The panel explored Japan’s manufacturing industry from a startup perspective, discussing current challenges and future opportunities driven by cutting-edge technologies.
